Meet the Team
Our Minister
Rev Ann Anderson

Ann is the Superintendent Minister for the Mid-Derbyshire circuit since 2022 and as well as overall responsibility for the 23 Churches in the Circuit, Ann is the Minister for 7 churches in the circuit these include: Belper Central, Cromford, Darley Dale, Denby Bottles, Matlock Moor, Tansley and of course Matlock Methodist and United Reformed Church.
Leadership Team
The Leadership Team of the Church consists of representatives of the groups and teams of the Church including Stewards, Brigade Captains, Group Leaders, Guild, Mission & Outreach, Property, Finance, Fundraising and Technical teams.

The Leadership Team meet regularly to deal with the management of the Church between Church Council periodic meetings which retain the responsibility for the worship life and Trusteeship of the Church.
Our Stewards
Church stewards are at the heart of our church.
Working as a team alongside the minister, they have responsibility for the full scope of the church's life and activities.
Church stewards work in a voluntary capacity, so their responsibilities are balanced alongside their personal commitments, family and social life.

Our dedicated church Stewards are Yvonne Brant, Penny Brown & Julie Dumelow, if you are new to the church and haven't yet met one of our stewards please introduce yourself to them.
Our Local Preachers and Worship Leaders
We have a number of local preachers and retired ministers who are members of our church who give up their free time to preach around the mid-Derbyshire circuit. The voluntary local preachers go through extensive training before taking up the role. Rev Juan Thompson, Rev Tony Wells and Sue Sunderland make part of the circuit team.

There is also a team of worship leaders that volunteer within the church, sometimes leading worship on their own and other times working in conjunction with visiting preachers. Worship leaders are trained volunteers who help to facilitate worship within a service but do not preach a message in the services they lead. Rachel Barclay, Tom Pilkington, Roanna Pilsbury and Elspeth Haynes (as part of our in house and travelling worship group 'Streams of Worship') are available when needed,
The Church Family
You can't talk about the team without mentioning the church family as a whole. There are more volunteers than it is sensible to name. When you look at our congregation we hope you see a welcoming Body of Christ each using their spiritual gifts for Christ. Some members form the Church Council making the big decisions and being accountable for how the church is run, you may also see the technical team, playing their part throughout and after the pandemic. You will see those that are part of the music group, those that lead Sunday school. You might not notice those that look after the up keep of the church or those that have dedicated their time to flower arrangements. You may be welcomed by a door steward or get chatting to a member of our mission and outreach team. Feel free to grab a coffee from one of our hospitality team. We hope you feel welcomed by our Church Family and we look forward to you joining in as a new team and family member.
It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.
One Body with Many Parts
The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.
